My Tollyboy belt has a rear wire/ thong and going to the toilet is very easy, there is sufficient give in the cable to be able to pull it to one side with your fingers and do your business,Wipe back side and wire and slip the cable back into centre [center] position. A lot cleaner than a rear eye type as the wire is thin but very strong. Even if the wire is tight the discharge will pass over it , but wire will need a lot more wiping, My rear wire is 3 years old and still clean
Also not enough movement to allow anal penetration without injury to person trying to enter.

Looking at the pictures my guess is that those curled wire parts sit below the rear cable and then the cupped plate slides down on top so that the rear cable is sandwiched between the two components, like this:
