Be a damn sight easier to just buy a cheapo Chinese belt with new burgh lock on it.
I will then have a new chinky belt available for "spares or repairs" for anyone who wants it
Only problem with that idea is i don't want it delivered to our home.

Yeah...NO, it is not technical at all. Drilling and tapping a hole and affixing a cut off piece of a allen wrench into a allen screw is techie?
pthbbt.
You said you were cheap. There is a cheap solution for you, a lot cheaper than buying another belt just to scavenge a lock.
But hey, your pounds sterling, not my debauched greenbacks!

Say WHAT!
I SAID I was cheap?Nooooooooooo i didn't! I don't come cheap.
This hole I am digging for my self is getting deeper..........
I think I have vandalized the lock enough already pyra, don't you?
The ORIGINAL question I asked, eons ago now, was how difficult/easy/safe/dangerous is it to cut through a 1mm thick waistband while wearing it.So far, no one has answered the questions!
I have the high Q cutters needed.
Lets not all forget that I am an experimenter...............

Hello Lizza
My metal cutting skills are normally scrapping an old vehicle chassis with a Bosch 4.5 inch angle grinder doing 10000 rpm.
However I am sure a smaller version is used by car body repair specialists to cut mild steel and alloy items. Perhaps a quick visit to your local machine mart will yield the reasonably priced [though not cheap] item that can cut stainless, The quality will men it will not diintegrate when tackling the band around your waist.
SAFETY ISSUES
Slips with any moving wheels grinders WILL INJURE you.I am sure your day to day work will already make you aware of risks.
To avoid hot sparks causing fire!
Wear eye protection.
Slide a thin sheet of leather? under where the cut is to take place.
With regards to cutting with SHEARS i have no experience of working with shears that close to flesh but would be surprised if the shears do Not try and twist to one side rather than cut straight.
I gather your a private but confident person who would rather not ask for the help of a second person for fear of embarrasment. I am sure the local fire service would like to try there powered hydraulic shears on some thing more exciting than a smashed up car wreck.Cars are replaceable unlike flesh, so be careful
On the plus side a clean cut through steel means it can be welded back together, OFF your body of course
Ref the lock problem could you make a new post mounted on a seperate length of stainless same width and perhaps 1/2 inch either side of post, and completely remove the damaged post just leaving a clean hole. Feed the new post thru the hole and rivet new strip into place. This way if a better locking option appears just drill out newest rivets and replace with new size shape item?
Please let us know how you get on.

I can buy a new cylinder and key.Easy.
The post is the problem. It needs turning 180 degrees to get to the good side of it.I could then possibly file a new concave groove in it, IF I knew what the metal is made of.Its copper plated with chrome laid on top.I know it may NOT be made of mild steel. The problem is I vandalized the socket hexagonal screw on it, so now I cant remove the damn thing to do this.It might be possible to file a new groove in it,but the position of that new groove needs to be fairly accurate.
I dont work in the metal industry any longer, I have not done so for some time.I don't miss it either.

I'm also wondering if somebody was successive in cutting of a Florentine-style female belt.

What scares/worries me Virginia, is the possibility of not cutting right through it and it leaving sharp metal sticking out or into my body.I would think that would be serious. Then still not being able to get out of it.God knows what i would do if that happened.I think the psychological effects on the mind would be nasty to.I hope I never find my self in that situation. That kind of metal can be razor sharp.I would never describe wearing a belt "as being 100% safe"they say,"your body adjusts to the belt,"I say no it doesn't.A tight belt displaces the internal organs, pushes them up towards the heart with corresponding consequences.I think we should all be aware of this when belted.Of course if you have a nice figure, narrow waist, wide hips then it doesn't need to very tight at all...............does it?

The advantages of an ergonomic design overy a straight waist band then. Belt passes Lower than most organs and its over top of pelvic girdle. I have a drop front belt and I have not felt any organs Not meant to be in the belt being crushed. But I guess better not to wear a belt then........

I wouldn't say never wear a belt.We just need to be careful.I read about the constricting effect, not just a chastity belt.Prolonged constriction can cause digestive problems.acid reflux etc,VERY nasty.

Yes, I understand what you mean. I don't doubt that anything could be cut off, but it's definitely not easy task. As for me, I couldn't do it myself without someone's else assistance.
After all, a chastity belt is kind of lock and it's intended to work the way not anyone could defeat it easily. Either it should take a lot of time or produce addition troubles.

Okay...
PTHBBT!!!
Lizza, provided you are not going for Super-Sissy of the Year award...and provided you are using a Chinese chastity belt (like mine)...
You said you have a new pair of snips? LOL, the problem of cutting THAT belt off is no-problem
The stainless steel is about 21-22 gauge. That is about 20 gauge mild steel equivalent. Once you DO cut your belt off, though, you will lose ALL confidence in the security of that belt. Trust me, you will be amazed at how easy that gauge is to cut with straight cut snips. (and you have more grip strength than a 6 year old)
I could chew mine off if I needed to. (but I'm a Gorgon, and we have very sharp teeth!)
