mcswitchy: I came upon an idea! Screw is no safe lock, therefore it should be replaced with a lock. A Trailer Hitch Locks should work!

I've been thinking that the trailer hitch lock and the locking spring tabs could be combined such that the belt can be locked without a key.

The hitch lock normally remains locked in one part of the belt. When the belt is open, this part can slide into another part that has a spring or latch that catches against the tube of the hitch lock. The belt is locked by pushing these two parts together. The belt is unlocked by removing the hitch lock with the key, then sliding the two parts apart.

I've been working this out for a male device (not belt). If anyone here is interested in this concept, I would enjoy trying to make an adapter for their belt along these lines. Just reply with some details of how your belt locks.
