Given the emphasis that our Muslim fellow Earth-walkers place upon female chastity in general and premarital virginity in particular, it is reasonable to wonder whether Muslim immigration into Europe in recent decades, has affected usage of the chastity belt and/or ringing a girl or woman for chastity with the infibulating padlock. :?:

Was it not the Crusaders from Europe who came up with the idea of chastity belts? :?:
They may never have used them, but drawings from the era that seems to work to produce them. The name, Florentine and Venetian chastity belt, sounds more like it was the Italians who first locked up their women in chastity belt. The usage spreads to both east and west, and it´s not at all strange. Good ideas tend to be copied.
