How difficult or easy is it to cut off a florentine stainless belt 1mm thick when wearing it,with suitable hardened tin snips?
How dangerous is it? (very springy metal)
I have lost my key so i am using other things in the lock, but I have been quite near sometimes to not being able to get out of it!I am trying to avoid having to buy a new lock.

ps
I am sure pyra can advise on this, shes the expert.

HAVE lost, which makes my belt unusable due to the burgwachter peasant lock

If you have lost the key not wearing the belt, why are you aware about consequences of cutting it off?

I'm curious - what sort of lock does it have (or should have ?)
And - what have you been using instead, that causes you to have 'problems getting out' ?
Thanks
H.

If you are not in the belt with lost key you don't need to cut it off but find replacement lock with the key first.
If you are still in the belt, your topic is valid.

The lock is the very heavy duty burgwachter "high security lock block".The locking post on mine is all messed up, my experiments caused that. What do I use to "to Iock it" , just a round piece of metal which I ram in the lock,it is about 7mm in diameter, it works fine, problem can be freeing it! A few times now I have had to get out of the belt by sliding it over my hips, Not easy.Maybe that means it is not tight enough on my waist?Possibly.Isn't getting out of a belt sometimes a challenge anyway?IF I can get it off, so can a n other person to,I wouldn't like that.

Lizza:
You have access to tools, right?
The locking block is just pewter or some other pot metal blend. It is soft and has a chrome flash on top. This will make drilling and tapping the block easy...
Put your chastity belt all together OFF OF YOUR BODY. Slightly bend the front shield down out of the way...
Find a suitable long allen set screw, maybe something like a 12-24NC x 5/8" long (or 10mm, whateva) Drill and tap that size through bottom dead center of block INTO your post. In the thickness of the block, go for center up. You only need to drill 1/2 way through the post. (the block on the post and waistband parts all fitted together, put a C-clamp to hold it rigid.)
Now, use 2 set screws. First one is going to be your locking screw. What you want to do is use a cut off wheel to cut a small tip off your allen wrench so when you bottom out the cut off piece in your screw, there is about 1/8" still projecting from the end of the screw. You want to either solder the cut part of the allen key into the allen socket, OR epoxy, your choice.
The other allen screw is going to be your KEY. You need to use a dremel and grind it down so it remains round and fits snugly into your hole drilled in the block.
You have just made a "reverse allen", which is SUPER HIGH SECURITY, because you cannot buy female allen wrenches. Now your security screw is a MALE allen set screw.
You can do this fix for under $5 bucks USD.
How bout dem apples, eh???

VERY technical PYRA.But thanks anyway.
Be a damn sight easier to just buy a cheapo Chinese belt with new burgh lock on it.
I will then have a new chinky belt available for "spares or repairs" for anyone who wants it
Only problem with that idea is i don't want it delivered to our home.
