I would very much appreciate some help deciding on two chinese/inexpensive belts to get us started with chastity. I've pored over the offerings on aliexpress, Ebay, spices and dhgate, as well as the more serious manufacturers like fancysteel. I've been lurking here as well.

My girl is short with wide hips and a rather gifted derriere, and a comparatively small waist. She seems to prefer the waist style, and her intuitions have served me well in the past. We're concerned with comfort and long term wearability. Her lifestyle is sedentary, concealment is preferable (but not a priority concern).

I'm considering the heart shaped belt, the chinese clone of fancysteel's active cable style belt, and a t-shaped rear thong belt with ergonomic waistband I've found on Ebay. I'd like the first two to include a thong type rear and a rear eye, as I think the thong type will make bathroom use for number two the easiest for my girl, but I want to have both for her comparison.

I'm fairly crafty with toys and equipment, so modifications should be no problem after I have a solid grasp on female chastity mechanics. I'd like to make my own female chastity devices someday.

I would recommend you to try the one with the anal plug. It can be removed, and shapes look much better. Avoid superthin belts.

Why you should avoid thin belts: P=F/S
The force the belt applies will be the same. A thinner belt gives a smaller surface, so more pressure. Either the wearer suffers more, or you loosen the belt: unsafe in both cases.

Although crafting a chastity belt sounds easy, it is long and hard. I proceeded with a friend. We had to measure my body. We used it to cut bands at the right length. Drilling all holes (locking and urination) was long, and stainless steel is hard to drill/cut.
We have worked on it for about 1-2 weeks, that was so long. And I got the best chastity belt I have ever worn!

That makes perfect sense. My girl is very tolerant of some types of discomfort but not others. I may attempt to craft a cable style belt if I see a need for one. A resource for chastity specific parts and pieces would be very nice to look over... but I shouldn't put the cart ahead of the horse.

I've seen your thread, and your custom belt is very impressive. I have a lot of questions about how it was made and your material and tool selection, but they may be better suited to the modification subforum or PM. I'll be patient, as difficult as it is. I'd very much like to make a few. It certainly doesn't seem easy, but the custom fit and cost effectiveness may be worthwhile. I'm not scared of long projects or difficult work.

You should check which style of belts sutis your sub:
- which width of band (are wires enough on her waist? does she need wide, thick steel bands? ...),
- which anal system (single wire between buttcheeks, double chains running on buttcheeks, continuous band with anal hole, ...),
- plugs need to be planned too, some styles don't allow the belt to be plugged,
- how tight the belt should be.
