Anyone actually know what that pathetic locking "post" used in the cylinder lock is made from?IT wears away incredibly quickly.I need to replace it cos its making my belt now unlockable.

burg type lock locking post
Re: burg type lock locking post
Will a magnet stick to it? may be simple cheap cast as used in years gone by to build kids toys
As suggested before, bin the post by grinding away old pin flush with belt surface.Re drill to take a larger post AKA Pyra Style. Cross drill it and fit a conventional Padlock or NEO STEEL shroud and lock.
I am sure a friend with a lathe who is into model making[steam trains or similar] could turn you a suitable shrour to suit what ever padlock you aquire, All you will have to do is modify the shroud by sawing/ filing required flats on the shroud to accomodate.
I guess from your posts that you really do like being belted and 101% secure.
Good Luck

My plan is/was to try and file a new u shaped groove into it, as original, with a rat tail?? file. The groove will need to be 7mm .I can then go and buy a new burgh 7mm key and cylinder. Those things were never intended for belts. The cylinders are made to go into an existing lock to lock it in and stop anyone putting a key into the keyhole. They are £16 and VERY hard to find.We have local lock smith but he don't know why I buy one! I am an experimenter, unfortunately my experimenting does sometimes go wrong and cost money. But its a learning curve!
Being belted, yes i LOVE it,so long as I AM doing it!

Well,,,,,
It seems like the post is made out of mildus steelussssssss, fairly easy to file a grrove in it.I have made a V shaped groove on the good side of the vandalized post! Now all I need to do is get a round file 6mm in diameter to make the V concave.I then need to buy a new burg cylinder lock etc etc, and I will have a lockable belt again.A saving of about £100 for a new belt/lock.I REALLY do miss being locked in it.NOW
who can I send all the keys to?

I know, but I have a sense of humour. I hope that the rework works well for you and you are able to relock your self knowing that it is secure and that you can get out again as and when you need to.

Pthbbt!
I say Lizza just zips up her belt with a security seal and hides all the side cutters and dremel cutoff wheels...and we'll see how she's doing a few months from now...

Chastity...fun to wear...horrible to have as a name!

But I am the only one who would ever see the seal!
I really would not like to have to cut the belt off,I could imagine what could go wrong.
